Triplets Plus Member
Thursday, Brett & Jenny Horn experienced the unimaginable. One of their trio was accidentally killed by a dresser... Their son Charlie had woken a bit early from his nap time, and had gone to get his glasses, his dresser somehow tipped and this awful tragedy occurred.
Charlie was 2 1/2 and leaves behind, big brother: Jack, and triplet brother & sister, Will & Brigit.
This tragedy has left many speechless and stricken with grief.
I wanted to create a place that we could all come and leave our condolences for Brett, Jenny and the rest of the family, including their beloved nanny Ruthie, who was home at the time this tragedy happened.
I'd like everyone to please leave your comments here and I will print these for the Horn family and give them to them at the appropriate time, and when they are ready.

I am sorry for your loss. As another triplet mom, this hurts me to my bones. I watched your video and what you said about Charlie and that is how I will always know of him, how he said, "I don't know" and how he smiled. Thank you for reminding other parents to secure dressers to the wall. I have an older child and I never ever secured furniture to the wall. Thank you and you are in my prayers.
We just wanted you and your family to know that we are praying that you find peace and comfort during this tragic time. We are so very sorry for your loss. You have a very precious angel watching over you.
It seems as though there are not enough words to describe our condolences for your loss.
We would like for you to know that your story has helped us take immediate action in our home and we thank you for sharing it. Your family is and will be in our prayers.

Brett, Jenny and family,
I have no idea what to say when an unimaginable tragedy like this occurs. I am so sorry for the loss in your family - Charlie was a beautiful little guy. I think it is absolutely incredible - and such a tribute to your son - that you have been so open about the situation to inform others and educate them. I know I, personally, have taken a second look at every room in our house.

My name is Lisa Tracy and I am good friends with Stephanie Baldwin. I have met you at several events and want to give you my condolesences on the loss of your son. In this time of incredible heartache, I have so many prayers for you... I can't say I understand your pain, or can take away your grief. But I do know that my heart is incredible saddened by this tragedy...
I know that losing a child is no way to teach a lesson, but you have embodied the word strength, and have shown us all how we can stop this tragedy from occurring in our own homes... We have taken this weekend, said many prayers for Charlie and your family, and took the time to secure all of our furniture. We've lived here for 2 years and none of this work had ever been done...
I'm sorry that it took this tragedy to open our eyes.
You will forever be in my thoughts and prayers...
Be Well.
Our prayers go out to you. I hope that God will bring you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Dearest family,
I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your baby boy. I cannot even pretend to understand the loss and heartache you must be in. I saw the news report and thought how braveyou both were in thinking of other children at this time.
May the father wrap his loving arms around you at this time. I will pray for your family.
I believe that we all come to this earth for a reason, with a special goal to accomplish in this life.
Please take comfort that Charlie has saved many many lives and that he is not gone. Never will he BE gone. You will feel him always, very close, watching over you and giving you more reasons to actively save others.
Bless you and your family for your strength and courage and LOVE that is so obvious to so many people.
Our thoughts and continuous prayers are with you and yours.

We are so sorry for the loss of your precious boy, Charlie. You have created a special tribute to a life cut too short and saved lives in the process. My heart hurts for you. No parent should ever have to out live their child. I'm sadly one of those parents too. There is no right or wrong way to mourn just be there for each other. May God grant your family comfort and peace.
Our deepest sympathy,

As parents of triplets, we cannot imagine the pain you are going through. Our prayers are with you.
Dearest Horn Family & Nanny,
What a beautiful boy Charlie is. So much personality behind those cute little glasses. What a beautiful family you have. You are incredible people. You have such strength and grace. You have saved innumerable accidents from happening in others peoples homes. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. As a mother of triplets and an older child as well, I cannot tell you the times we had incidents when the children were smaller where someone could of been injured but werent. My heart aches so terribly for you. I pray for you all through my tears and hope that it takes some of yours away if just for a moment. My love and prayers got out to you. God bless you and keep you all.
What can I possibly say that even seems appropriate? I'm so terribly sorry. I will pray for your angle Charlie and that you and your family will somehow find peace. Thank you for sharing this with so many. I'm sitting here thinking of every room in the house and what we can do to make them all safer. God Bless you.
I follow the blog of a friend of yours. I cried when I read her post about Charlie's very horrific death. Your entire family is in my prayers. I find it extremely brave for you to share your story so others can be reminded of the dangers furniture can pose. My own Charlie, now 7, broke his foot at 3 when he pulled the TV down on it - I've often thought of how lucky we were that day.
Brett and Jenny,
We are so sorry to hear about Charlie. What a sweet little guy. He is missed by people he didn't even know. We do know that he is in heaven now and someday, our God and Creator of heaven and earth, who created him, will bring you together again thru Him who He sent to save us from grief and tragedy. May you find peace and comfort in Him and His plans for you.
In Him,
Jay and Lisa White

Wild Geese by Mary Oliver
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting--
over and over announcing your place in the family of things.

Dear Brett and Jenny Horn,
At this moment, I am grieving for, and with, you. My deepest condolences go out to your intire family, but mostly to you two.
I would like you to know, that even though we are millions of miles apart, I still care for you, and judging by the other comments, many more do, too.
Your story is tragic, yet filled with information, as if it had not happened, parents possibly would not know the dangers that you have witnessed. Though, I believe it would have been better if we did not know, and Charlie was still with us.
I give you my luck, and shall pass on your story to parents everywhere.
My heart is with you.
Your truly, Simone
